New mast for ZongweFM station

There is reason to celebrate with the Sinazongwe community and the team of Sinazongwe Community Radio Station ZongweFM on the Zambian shores of Lake Kariba:

the construction of a new mast at the station on the Boma has been completed -  see the pictures below. This is another major step for ZongweFM after the installation of a solar power system.

The project has been facilitated by donations earlier this year by a number of friends and well wishers in Austria with a contribution by Radio B138 in Kirchdorf/Upper Austria.

Andy Kampamu, the board chairman: "Thank you for the overwhelming commitment towards the Sinazongwe Community Radio"! Twalumba loko!

The implementation had to overcome some hurdles during the extensive raining season recently with severe flooding affecting the area.

With the new mast the broadcasting outreach of the station will increase significantly up to the plateau and across the lake to the Zimbabwean side.

So there is reason to celebrate this achievement with the Tonga community on both sides of the Zambezi River - Mulonga as it is called in ChiTonga.
