"For the Tonga people like me, there is something deeply biblical about the word MULONGA, yet it is a modern story too. One of massive but unshared technology. One of plentiful water but perpetual drought."

Official opening of the exhibition "Tracing the Rainbow" and Tonga.Online project room at State Museum of upper Austria in Linz, 01.04.2001.

From today on the exhibition "Tracing the Rainbow" about life, arts and culture in Southern Africa is opening its doors officially at the State Museum of Upper Austria province in Linz.Last year, Director Peter Assmann and Curator Stefan Eisenhofer invited us to present some results of our cultural exchange programme between Linz / Austria and the Tonga area. This invitation sparked the idea for the TONGA.ONLINE project as a way to communicate with the Tonga community directly.Part of the exhibition is a TONGA.ONLINE Project Room where visitors of the exhibition have an opportunity to get immediate access to Tonga people and Tonga culture using the Internet as a tool for communication.
Todays official opening will be attended by the Zimbabwean Ambassador to Austria H.E. Tirivafi J. Kangai, the Governor of Upper Austria Province Josef Pühringer, the Mayor of Linz Franz Dobusch and other dignitaries.
The audience will have a chance to listen to Imbube music from Zimbabwe presented live by Insingizi Emnyama.

We would like to express our gratitude towards the State Museum of Upper Austria Province, the supporters and sponsors, especially TechWorld.
