"For the Tonga people like me, there is something deeply biblical about the word MULONGA, yet it is a modern story too. One of massive but unshared technology. One of plentiful water but perpetual drought."

Welcome to the new Tonga.Online team
Monday, 20 December 2004 00:00
We are glad to introduce you to the new Tonga.Online project team who will provide support to the three Computer Centres in Binga area. Due to the relocation of Penny Yon to Harare and the extension of the project to Siachilaba and Siansundu there was an urgent need to replace the coordinator and to enforce the team.

Welcome to David Mungombe as the new coordinator who is not new to the Tonga.Online project at all since he has rendered his assistance in many ways already i.e. acting as artist coordinator for Mulonga.Net Festival in September.

avid is 42 years old and married, speaks four more African languages besides his native CiTonga and masters excellent English of course. As an artist in various fields he holds a ZACT Certificate in Arts & Culture administration and has been working for Ntengwe. He has been involved as a consultant and resource person for some other cultural and educational projects.

Teaming up with Theo Sianyuka, Noty Sianyuka and Sengamo Ndlovu whose record of support for Tonga.Online is already well known and appreciated we are looking forward to further fruitful cooperation and success.

We wish you and all friends, stakeholders, collaborators, supporters and sponsors of Tonga.Online project Merry Christmas, a relaxing festive season and all the best for 2005!

Peter Kuthan on behalf of Austria Zimbabwe Friendship Association

Dear Austrian friends,

Greetings from Binga where it is still very hot, with a few rainy days to cool things down.
As we come to the end of the year, we would like to thank you for your assistance to the Tonga.Online project, which is moving from strength to strength in Binga, although slowly!

Thanks for all you have done for us, and the BaTonga people of Zambezi Valley, and we look forward to working with you again in the coming years.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and for those who are going somewhere, Mweende Kabotu!

Twalumba loko and see you in 2005!

With best wishes from
Penny, Theo, Noty, Sengamo & David
