We are pleased to advise that Basilwizi will be participating in this year’s Shangano cultural festival in Vic. Falls and Hwange. The festival will run from December 01 -05 2011. Shangano is a Nambiya word for a “meeting place” and the event is meant to showcase various cultural exhibitions from Matabeleland North and a selected few from beyond Mat. North.

Basilwizi is sending a delegation of nine traditional musicians from Lubu village in Binga. This group performs one of the endangered dances, Chilimba, of the Tonga people. Interestingly, the Chilimba group, being one of several being supported by us this year, has a sitting councilor as one of its members.

Kind Regards
