The former students of Binga High School have initiated to form an
association. Discussions have started. Can we have the discussion posted
on Mulonga??

Dear Former Binga High School Students.

I hope you are all doing fine and I am aware that you are holding different
portfolios where ever you are.

Taking in cognizant the collapsing of the education sector in Zimbabwe
and later on Binga High School, a group of former Binga High School
grouped themselves to map out some strategies to assist the school in
improving the education. Anyone who attended school at Binga High
School between the mid 80 to the late 90s would agree with me when I
say it had a flagship education systems in the country given its
strategic location. However, the situation has since changed and
progress has regressed due to unstable socio-economic and political
environment in the country and the lack of subsidies from the
government. Like any other government school in the country, the
school is currently faced with numerous challenges of lack of
stationery, dilapidating infrastructure among other things. Unless
immediate action is taken, the school's system will face continued
collapse. At the meeting held by a group of former students of the
school on the 16th of May 2009, it was unanimously agreed that we take
the route of forming an association, hereinafter called the Binga
'High School Former Students Association'. An interim committee
chaired by Pottar Muzamba was put in place. The committee was among
other things tasked to:

-Come with the constitution for the Association
-Identify all the former students
-Open a bank Account for the Association
-Research on the registration procedures of the association with Social Welfare
-Make preparations for the launch of the association.

I would like invite everyone to give an input on how best we could
rescue the collapsing education systems at the school. Also, to
identify other former students and hook them on the mulonga discussion forum.

Wish all the best

Pottar Muzamba
Interim Chairperson.

NOBBLE THE IDEA IT IS. THERE IS ONE THING WE SHOULD LEARN ABOUT OURSELVES: PARTICIPATORY DEMOCRACY IS A FLIRTING ILLUSION. TO THIS EFFECT I STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT YOU PEOPLE IN BINGA ADDRESS THE ISSUES YOU HAVE RIGHTLY INDICATED AND THEN WHEN THERE IS AN ORGANISATION  YOU WILL BE SURPRISED TO SEE HOW PEOPLE WILL START TO COME AND FIGHT FOR POSTS. FORM THAT INTERIM COMMITTE OR WHATEVER YOU ARE GOING CALL IT IN TERMS OF THE DRAFT OR INTERIM CONSTITUTION And USE PLATFORMS LIKE YOUR WORKSHOPS, FACEBOOK, EDUCATION OFFICES ETC TO GET TO PEOPLE

GOOD LUCK COMRADES
