Title: Climate change, development and GreeningIT
Post by: Peter Kuthan / AZFA on January 30 2012
MONTEVIDEO (LC for APCNews) – The relationship between ICTs and the environment is multifaceted. On the one hand, APC is looking into how ICTs are being used to help the environment, while on the other we are looking at policies for dealing with emerging problems such as e-waste and climate change. APC recently co-hosted a workshop in partnership with the University of Manchester to discuss how ICTs can be used to help mitigate climate change and help communities better adapt to their ever-changing environment. APC’s GreeningIT project takes a look at the green and not so green side of ICTs to find out how they can be used more sustainably by ICT practitioners, civil society, governments and service providers.
