Title: Update on the lobbying for Binga wireless communication network
Post by: Peter Kuthan / AZFA on March 11 2008
Dear all

On the 4th of March, 2008, the task force entrusted with the duty of
lobbying for a WLAN permit to operate in the ISM band went to Lupane
(province) and had a meeting with the Provincial Administrator who also
happens to be the Chairperson of the Tonga.Online advisory board.

At that meeting, background information on the Binga WLAN project and the
reasons why the project should operate in the ISM band were outlined.

The Provincial Administrator welcomed the proposal. She then requested
the task force to furnish her with all the necessary information. After
she gets the information, she will discuss the proposal with the
Governor and then approach the Minister of Information for further
discussions. The role of the task force at this moment in time, is to
make a follow up with the Province. The task force has since prepared and
sent all the information on the project to PA with a copy to the
governor.

Best regards
