Title: JANUARY/ FEBRUARY 2007 STAKEHOLDER UPDATE Post by: Peter Kuthan / AZFA on May 13 2007 INTRODUCTION
2007 has started as a busy and promising year in terms of IT on the Zambian side of the Zambezi river. We as trainers thank Tonga .online project supportive facilitators to extend their concern on training to us who at present effectively push work / trainers. SERVICES Community sensitization commenced immediately after trainers came back from training in Zimbabwe. Training began on 20/01/07 on a serious note, where community members and school students were timetabled ( in the morning school student and afternoon the community members ). Though school pupils initially couldn’t be released for computer lesson school suitable timetable was created for them to be in system especially grades 6-9. The school pupils in due regard to number of computers functioning each grade/class is divided into 3 groups, hence, one group for each class is seen in a week .The following are the Basic computer training statistics for community members and school pupil: COMMUNITY GRADUATES. MALE 2 FEMALE 3 TOTAL 5 The above were trained in Basic IT concepts, Spreadsheet, house keeping and preventative maintenance. SCHOOL PUPILS B 256 G 369 TOTAL 625 Pupils number attending computer lessons has retarded due to change of sessions. Grade 5s come in the afternoon when the community members are being attended to. For pupils, training has been planned for a period of one year. GENERAL CONDITION OF THE CENTRE. The centre has 15 computers. Two are not in operation , thirteen are intact and in operation. CONSTRAINTS Sinazongwe ITC has no printer which makes operations a little bit hard and this retards centre economic status . A Stakeholders’ meeting has failed several times , hence, there is no concrete management body in place yet , as a result running of the affairs of the centre still rise in the hands of the Hon. Chief, school manager and trainers at large. RECOMMENDATION Sinazongwe ITC deeply accords many thanks, Hon. Chief Sinazongwe, Binga Tonga.Online project / AZFA for their recognition and support rendered to our Zambian side (mulonga area). Twalumba kapati. The centre is therefore seeking for endless support for ever and ever. COMPILED BY Ndele Gerald. Sinazongwe ITC Secretary/Trainer. |
